This is something I had been meaning to reshare here for a while now. In short, this study finds that various marginalizations should be considered as they appear to have a significant impact on outcomes of psychedelics use/therapies.

“Race and ethnicity have an impact on the associations that psychedelics share with mental health outcomes. Future research should explore the impact of identity and discrimination on the effects of psychedelics and should explore whether these substances can serve as effective treatments for minorities when used in culturally informed contexts.”

There are limitations with this study, but I think that this is an observable issue and should be a major factor when addressing the topic of psychedelics use for mental health benefits.

I think shorter term results also contribute to psychological addiction around substances that typically are considered to have low addiction potential.

Race and ethnicity appear to play an important a role in the link between psychedelic use and mental health outcomes
