“Allies” of harm reduction and drug policy movements: Stop broadly re-enforcing stereotypes/stigma about drugs being the root cause of someone’s extremely unhinged behavior. I know we like to stick it to the racists by insulting them but being like “He was on drugs trying to find Burning Man!” *ba dum chi* is counterproductive. This dude in particular (and many others) have a track record of fuckery. We know these people are shitty not on drugs. Shut the fuck up, respectfully. Drugs aren’t magic, they don’t automatically turn people into empathetic, rational human beings. If they did, this clown shoe literally wouldn’t exist as front-page news and account for dozens of the existing insurrection memes. Right wingers/conservatives do psychedelics! Racists do psychedelics! Psychedelics alone won’t fix any of this shit! ESPECIALLY if it’s just a bunch of white people hijacking and cherry-picking from indigenous practices with no respect to the people, culture, beliefs, etc. Let’s avoid associating sociopathy/antisocial and/or narcissistm (the personality disorders I’m specifically alluding to) with being on drugs.
