Being Prepared: Making the Most of Psychedelic Experiences
I understand this time of year may be hard for folks, or even full of festivity and cheer. I have been getting some questions about how to safely use psychedelics, so I am just going to give everyone access to look at the presentation I did on this for @zendoproject, which I know was not financially accessible for a lot of people.
Whether your use is therapeutic or recreational, the harm reduction checklist is the same and you can still reap a lot of benefits in either context. If you’re looking for a step-by-step guide of exactly how to use psychedelics, you’re over thinking it. Part of the adventure is figuring it out for yourself, or just going to a shaman if you really need someone to guide you through every aspect of the experience.

A note on dosing: It’s pretty much always going to be a crapshoot with mushrooms and LSD. I’ve had batches of the same mushrooms where one part was way stronger than another, and people probably just make shit up with how many micrograms of LSD is present. There’s not really a way to measure that for yourself so you don’t know if it’s 75, 100, 150, or what. If you start low, tolerance builds quickly and redosing only results in a longer trip, not a stronger one. Commit to an amount and brace yourself for whatever happens.
If you want measurable consistency, there are a number of research chemicals like 4-AcO-DMT that exist that are powder/crystal analogs to psilocybin and LSD that are virtually the same. They are still technically illegal, though, so good luck!
